Stand with us

Ten days, three cities, one team.

Four thousand masters from over fifty countries are coming to Finland in January 2028. Every one of them needs a start line, a warm welcome and a ride back to the hotel. That is where you come in.

Why volunteer

You make the start line happen.

Masters athletes travel far, pay their own way and train all year for this. What they remember is the people who met them: the smile at the accreditation desk, the course marshal who shouted their name, the driver who knew the way.

No experience needed for most roles. We train you, give you the kit and put you in a team. You meet people from all over the world, see the Games from the inside and take home a week you will talk about for years. Lahti, Heinola and Levi have done this before: the Lahti Ski Games alone runs on a thousand volunteers every winter.

Volunteer FAQ

Before you sign up.

The questions we get most. Anything else, write to [email protected].

Do I need experience?

No. Most roles need a good attitude and warm clothes. We train everyone. A few sport roles, like timing or hill crew, need experience, and we ask about it in the form.

Do I need to speak Finnish?

No. English is enough for most roles. Athletes come from over fifty countries, so every extra language you speak is a plus.

How much time do I need to give?

At least three shifts of about six hours during the Games, plus training. Many volunteers do more. You choose your days.

Is travel or accommodation covered?

We cover meals and Games transport on your shift days. Travel to the region and accommodation are your own. Most volunteers live in or near Lahti, Heinola or Levi.

Can I compete and volunteer?

Yes. Some sports finish in the first half of the Games and others start later. Volunteer on the days you are not racing.

Can my club or school join as a group?

Yes, and we would like that. Local clubs run many of the sports. Add your club or school name in the form and we keep you together.
