Winter Trail Run FAQ

Before you enter.

The questions Trail Runners ask us most. General Games questions are in the main FAQ.

Can I run two trail races?

Yes. The 5 km or 10 km and the 21 km are all in one entry, on consecutive days.

What kit do I need on the trail?

Shoes with good grip on snow is the most important. Follow the instructions from sports page.

Do I need to be a club member?

No. Winter Trail Run and Winter Swimming is open to everyone aged 30 or older. Club membership is recommended, not required.

Is there a 5 km?

Yes. On Saturday 15 January you choose 5 km or 10 km. The 21 km is on Sunday 16 January. All three are medal events.

What is the surface?

Snow-covered forest trails. Conditions change with the weather, so shoes with good traction help.

Is there a cut-off?

Yes, on the 21 km, to keep the race inside the January daylight. Times are in the regulations.

Can I add another sport?

Yes, up to three sports on one entry. The trail run finishes on 16 January, so most of the programme is still ahead.
